On behalf of the Northeastern Illinois University community, I am delighted to welcome the members of the Korean Traditional Culture Institute.  Your performance will foster and promote a greater understanding of the richness of Korean culture and strengthen the bonds between Northeastern Illinois University and the Korean American community.

The community at Northeastern Illinois University represents more than forty different ethnic groups.  We speak many languages and represent many nations.  Northeastern Illinois University views this diversity as a valued resource, providing opportunities for students to share their cultures and histories as we enter the twenty-first century.  As a result, students learn to understand values, customs, and cultures other then their own while celebrating their common bonds.  Northeastern Illinois University uses a variety of perspectives to enrich the teaching and learning experience and to prepare all students for the multiculturalism that characterizes our city, country, and global community.
